games
games i like
battlefield: bad company 2
my favourite battlefield game, and the one that got me into the series when i was little.
i thought frostbite was so awesome, and the campaign had such cool and funny characters.
the multiplayer was also really fun, and all the weapons felt really satisfying to mess around with.
i liked this game so much that i begged my parents for the money to buy the elite packs, which used to be the equivalent of today's premium.
it's a huge shame you can't play this in a legal way anymore as it's not sold anywhere, and the only way to get your hands on the game is by downloading it through a shady website.
truly battlefield's golden era, in my opinion.
battlefield 1
possibly the best battlefield game ever made.
it was released in 2016 and it's still the prettiest and most atmospheric game in the franchise to date.
the campaign in the form of war stories was awesome, and the soundtrack is nothing short of amazing (bless you johan söderqvist and patrik andrén).
the multiplayer is still very much alive despite the years, and you can often find the game on sale for very cheap.
team fortress 2
one of the most influential games in my life and a true classic. probably the game i've played the most growing up.
this game is more than just a first person shooter. all the community maps and custom game modes (i love you deathrun) meant this game used to be a hub for pretty much anything you could think of.
the community is still alive, although not as much as it used to be in the 2010s. if you'd like to play this game, i'd recommend sticking to a few handpicked community servers that curate the experience. casual kinda sucks. competitive is completely dead.
i've sunk more than 3500 hours into this game and i don't regret it one bit. i've met some of my best friends on here and i wouldn't give up the memories and fun times it's given me for anything.
socom: u.s. navy seals
another game from my childhood that i used to play religiously.
i remember thinking this game was the coolest thing ever. i'd take on the mission at a snail's pace and pretend i was actually in the middle of some top secret mission.
the first mission used to spook me quite a bit. one day i beat it, and then i felt so accomplished i started playing it over and over again.
metal slug X
this game is a classic. i used to play it on my ps2 and beat it many many times.
the gameplay is very challenging. the art style is awesome and the whole soundtrack is a banger.
one of the first games i got into, shown to me by my dad.
